From Washington to Positano! ! The 9th edition of the International Festival of the animation and cartoons, as always, on the beaches of Positano.

The lights of Hollywood will be projected once more in south Italy, also thanks to the fundamental role of the Rai, Italian Radio Television.

How affirms the president of the Rai Trade, Roberto Di Russo, the role of the Rai is not to transmit what the public likes it, but also to help the development of the quality of the programs, that are home made or not.

There will be present several celebrities, actors and film producers, all enthusiastic in their roles of jurors. They will reward the various programs in competition, conferring prestigious Pulcinella Awards to the Career, to the more affirm personality among which Joe Barbera, Jules Engel, Jimmy T. Murakami and Phil Roman.

Among the surprises there will be also an original prize, signed by Alfio Bastiancich, destined to the Cartoons that have made epoch.

Every year, to XXI late century, the joy of the traditions relives in the Party of Sant'Andrea, in Amalfi between famous beaches and ultramodern hotels, the taste of the ancient still alive. 

The bones of the Saint emanate an extraordinary substance with unbelievable curative ownership. This substance is picked up six times a year, and it is distributed to the believers in small bottle.   

The Saint is venerated all month long in November with a prayer to more bawls up to the evening of the eve, where through procession, the statue is brought by hand for all Amalfi village. 

The day of the party, after the celebrations, the statue is brought in triumphal procession as symbol of the religiousness of the whole Amalfi Coast.

Every June the 27th, besides, is remembered the miracle of the year 1544 a.C. Sant'Andrea saved Amalfi from the naval attack of the pirate Barbarossa. That day the statue is actually brought in shore to the sea and it is celebrated with musical gang, fireworks and classical booths by fair.

To wisely mix believers and gourmets, in Praiano this is possible every year, in the month of May. In this period the preparations are fervent for the first party of St. Gennaro patron of Vettica Maggiore, an hamlet of  Praiano on Amalfi Coast , that is also celebrated then on September the 19th.  

The ancient “praianesis” the so called Praiano inhabitants, called their saint patron St. Gennaro "'O Patanaro", or also St. Gennaro "'O Poveriello", because their intention was to thank the saint for the good crop of potatoes for that year.  

It necessary to remember that epoch, and at least part also today, the potatoes constituted an economic resource for to feed not indifferent for all the families, even if it was, for tradition and not, a "proletarian" food.

The city of Sorrento, patronized by the Campania Region, has organized the "Month of the D.o.p. Olive Oil in Campania". The manifestation, that will run from March the 18th to April the 19th 2005, will have as buttonhole’s flower of the competition "gold Siren Prize of Sorrento" devoted D.O.P. olive oil extravergines (denomination of protected origin.).  

  The prize, reaches by now the third edition other it is not but a showcase to promote the knowledge and the diffusion of this Italian oil of elevated quality. Besides this, during these 30 demonstration’  days, it will be "chosen" 40 restaurants displaced in the 5 provinces of Campania region, with the title "Restaurants of the oil."   

  The initiative aims to improve the cultural knowledge degree of the oil D.O.P. and will certainly be an incentive to the appetite of our tables, as well as to a discreet increase of the tourist demand, both as restaurants that, obviously, as lodges, landlord, travel agencies and so on.
